Tutoring Business Offers Unique Opportunity For Entrepreneurs
Pressure to ensure their children keep pace with classmates and score well on standardized tests is pushing more parents to hire tutors. In fact, the nationwide tutoring market has more than doubled in the past five years with about 10 to 12 percent of students, more than 6 million, expected to receive tutoring this year alone. With this growth comes the need for qualified tutors. Laurie Hurley of Bright Apple Tutoring Service, Inc., www.brightappletutoring.com, has been filling that need by matching tutors with students since 2001.
Laurie Hurley is a tutor broker – she contracts with qualified tutors and matches them with students in need of one-on-one tutoring. She has successfully connected hundreds of students with dedicated, professional teachers and tutors and is now offering her effective business procedures to entrepreneurs looking for a strong business with great earning potential.
Hurley who is featured in Woman’s World Magazine this week is quoted as saying, “
Similar to a franchise, this program provides all the necessary tools including a website, customized accounting software program, personalized training by Laurie Hurley, and a detailed business manual. With average websites costing upwards of $3000 and customized software between $10,000 and $20,000, this is an affordable alternative for those serious about their entrepreneurial objectives. You receive all of the benefits of a franchise, without the added fees, monthly royalties, restrictions and limitations.
As Hurley states, the three main benefits are:
- Costs are a fraction of a franchise with on-going personal support from myself, not a staff of people who have never worked in the field or met and matched families with tutors.
- The packages are all-inclusive with customized programs, website, marketing and advertising designed specifically for the tutoring business in mind.
- The buyer has a choice of three packages to suit their needs and financial capabilities. There’s no need to purchase the website or accounting program if they don’t require it.
With academic tutoring costs expected to reach over $4 billion nationwide this year and with the predicted continued growth of 12 to 15 percent each year, now is the perfect time to start a home-based tutor referral business.
Laurie Hurley is the President and Founder of Bright Apple Tutoring Service, Inc. serving Ventura County and surrounding areas in Southern California. Laurie is also President of Home Tutoring Business. For more information or to purchase a business package, visit hometutoringbusiness.com or brightappletutoring.com.

Conversation In An Age Of Confusion
What do people talk about when they all believe different things and nobody is sure what the other person believes?
Then you add to that the usual courtesy that most people don’t want to offend other people, especially when it comes to the topics people disagree about with the most intensity, such as politics and religion, which all but the most foolhardy consider way off limits, at least, in what is referred to as polite conversation.
Actually, the silence of the times is far wider. In fact, the silken muffler of a feared indiscretion is wrapped around virtually every significant area of human thought, from philosophy to economics.
So what are we left with? Certain relatively safe topics, like poetry, unless you’re among poets whose egos are hair-trigger ready to fire back their own preferences vehemently. History might also be a good bet, since the overall tale has been pretty well agreed on, unless, once again, you’re with historians who may be simmering with their own disagreements.
The result? Conversation generally defaults to entrancing topics like the weather. Many spend entire evenings discussing such substitute content as one trifling entertainment or inconsequential entertainer after another. Things get really exciting when someone happens to mention how someone else may look tonight. Then there’s always the daring raconteur who’s arrayed with an evenings worth of sexual allusions.
Listening to such excited vapidity, one’s mind wanders to the legendary salons of France, at their epiphany, home, we read, to forthright conversation about the headiest topics of the time, generally centered around the new insights and old illusions of The Age of Reason.
At vagrant moments, you cannot help but ask yourself if the human race ever get to another time when it has enough beliefs in common to enliven its social occasions with conversations that really are interesting.

Iraqi Insurgents In Secret Talks; Admit May Be Fighting Wrong Enemy
Iraqi insurgent groups, in secret talks with resourcefully pacifying President Jalal Talabani, admitted they may have been fighting the wrong enemy. Upon hearing the admission, President Talibani slapped his forehead so hard he fell over backwards and was unconscious for approximately three days.
Upon being resuscitated, he continued the talks. Apparently, the insurgents, most of whom are Sunni Muslims, have slowly begun to realize that American and coalition troops, who they have been making their best efforts to kill, may not be the real enemy. It seems they are also growing disenchanted with the practice of blowing up a dozen or so of their fellow countrymen every day.
While it is far too soon to expect them to realize that coalition troops are actually the helpful heroes who liberated their country from murderous despotism and will be delighted to depart their sandy realm as soon as they can get their act together and run their own country, the groups have indicated a marginal willingness to consider giving up their various armaments and roadside explosives.
Behind the change in their sentiment seems to be, not only their longtime-overdue displeasure with dismembering their own nation, but the realization that they are dangerously bordered by their traditional enemy, Iran, as they have been for quite a few thousand years, and that, because of the continuing discord, Iran has managed to increase its influence in the country, particularly among their uneasy Mosque fellows, the Shiite contingent of the legions of Mohammed. This perception is especially upsetting to the insurgents, because, as noted above, most of them are rival Sunni “Mosque-ovites.”
Their infuriatingly slow realization of the error of their ways is likely to elicit hardly more than ironic displeasure from the many families, coalition and Iraqi alike, who have lost loved ones during their misguided rampage.
But at least their willingness to talk and to consider mending their detonative ways is a glimmer of hope for the families whose sons and daughters are still in Iraq, attempting to do the right thing by the Iraqi people, Sunni and Shiite alike.
May the day soon come when enough of the knuckleheads realize the error of their war so we and the other nations that are in the hot sands we’ve gotten ourselves into can finally get our much underappreciated troops the heck out of there.

Using Filters In Photography
Photographic filter is an attachment that will allow certain kinds of light to be able to pass through, and able to reduce or block out other unwanted light sources. In short, the term filter really means anything that modifies the incoming light in some way and includes: polarizing screens, multi-image prisms,close-up attachments, soft focus filters, neutral density (ND) filters, graduated ND filters, and color filters for black and white photography. Filters come in two main shapes: round and square.
Filters add color and a certain touch to a photo that complements the individuals style of photo taking. When you are using a black and white film with filters, you can darken or lighten the tone of the subjects color. The color filters that are used can darken the tone of an opposite color and brighten the tone of the color filter that is being used. For an example, a red filter will make the red leafs on an autumn tree look very rich and bright, while on the other hand the sky behind it that was blue, is now almost black.
Neutral density filters reduce the light entering your camera so that a slower shutter speed,or a larger aperture can be used. Graduated ND filters are used to balance out bright skies against darker foreground scenes.
A neat filter is called the star filter. This type of filter in photography is placed on the cameras lenses to create a star look effect form any source of light. This is very popular with television game shows and used for portraits to provide a soft overall diffusion. A split field lenses is really a full lenses but only half of it is close-up, it is great for taking a picture of something close-up at the bottom like a small flower or bug in focus. The top of the lenses is just blank or empty and the camera uses its lenses to background in focus, say the mountain in the distance.

Your Adwords Conversion Is Very Important
Are you using Google Adwords to promote your product or service? Are you getting the results you want? You'll only know this information if you are tracking the conversion rates of the click-through you are paying for. Then, depending on what you learn about the conversions, you may need to refine your campaign.
A conversion rate is defined as the percentage of people who actually purchase your product or service compared to the number of people who came to your website by clicking on your Adwords ad. This number is the conversation percentage and the higher the percentage, the more effective your ad campaign. If you have extremely low numbers, you need to do something to increase those numbers such as refine your ads or choose better keywords or websites for displaying the ads.
Google provides inside the Adwords application a tool for tracking conversions for each campaign and each ad you run. This allows you to learn what your rates are and see which ads are doing their job well. If one ad or a whole campaign isn't doing well, then you can look for patterns that can clue you in about how to change and make the campaign more effective.
The more data you gather about conversion the better you will be able to tune your site because the fact that a visitor clicks your ad, lands on your site to see what you have to offer does not necessarily makes it a buyer or a lead. Your site colors, navigation and structure also have a very important effect on your conversion rates.
It doesn't matter whether you are the world’s number 1 adwords campaign creator if your site is ugly, difficult to use or navigate or is not offering what you stated in the ad you will have very low conversion rates. A fine example of this is the ad that states that a product or service is free only to find out when you go to the site that you have to pay. Make sure that your ad and your website are offering the same thing with the same conditions.
