The Ultimate Fighters: Where are They Now?
The Ultimate Fighter has become a gem among the typical dredge of reality television. Smartly conceived, well-produced and playing completely to the large UFC fan base, The Ultimate Fighter brings it's SpikeTV viewers an eclectic collection of cast members every season. This is ultimately what makes the show tick; the clashing of personalities is a reality show staple, but on The Ultimate Fighter the personalities get to enter the octagon and fight each other. As each season passes, a number of contestants fade from the public eye for one reason or another, sometimes never to be seen again. What has happened to your favorite Ultimate Fighter contestant? Here, we'll profile what's been going on with some of our favorite fighters from The Ultimate Fighter.
Stephen Bonnar
Bonnar is probably best known for his epic and universally beloved The Ultimate Fighter title fight with Forrest Griffin on The Ultimate Fighter 1; a fight he actually lost. Many regard this match as one of the best in UFC history, and rightfully so. However, since then, Bonnar has had some troubling times. He notched three consecutive victories in the Octagon after the fight, all on SpikeTV Ultimate Fight Nights. Then, on Ultimate Fight Night 5, he lost a unanimous decision to Rashad Evans. After that, Bonnar got scheduled to fight a rematch with Forrest Griffin at UFC 62 on August 26, 2006. Bonnar again lost to Griffin (in a unanimous decision), but those were the least of his worries. Shortly after that fight, Stephan Bonnar tested positive for the use of anabolic steroids, a banned substance in the UFC. He has not fought since, and his career is seemingly in jeopardy. No decision has yet been made by the powers that be on his UFC status.
Chris Leben
Brash and unflinching, Chris Leben was as dynamic a personality (and fighter) as The Ultimate Fighter has ever seen. In a controversial match early on in The Ultimate Fighter 1, Leben lost to Josh Koscheck. Leben complained to UFC president Dana White after the fight that Koscheck just “held him down” and if that was the kind of fighter White wanted in the UFC. Leben got to fight again, this time in the Ultimate Fighter semi-finals, when Nate Quarry bowed out with an injury. Leben lost again to Kenny Florian. Since The Ultimate FIghter 1, Leben has had a sterling record, going 6-1-0 in UFC competition, only losing to Anderson Silva, but beating quality fighters like Jorge Rivera, Edwin Dewees, and Jorge Santiago. Leben is a personality that the Ultimate Fighting Championship should be eager to use. He had been training at AMC Pankration in Seattle, but currently Leben is training down in Portland, Oregon.
Rashad Evans
Despite an eight inch height difference between Evans and the 6'7 Brad Imes, Rashad beat Imes in the heavyweight division finale of The Ultimate Fighter 2. Success has followed Evans since his victorious stint on The Ultimate Fighter 2, him winning all three of his UFC bouts since. His professional MMA record remains a perfect 14-0-0 and Evans is widely considered to be a title contender. It should only be a matter of time before Rashad Evans gets his shot.
Joe Stevenson
Stevenson surprised few by winning the Welterweight division of The Ultimate Fighter 2. Only 5'7, he defeated Luke Cummo in the Ultimate Fighter finale with an unanimous decision. He lost his first match after The Ultimate Fighter, to Josh Neer at Ultimate Fight Night 4. However, Stevenson easily won his next fight due to doctor stoppage versus Yves Edwards at UFC 61. Stevenson is one of the most experienced fighters to ever appear on The Ultimate Fighter; he sported a professional record of 24-6-0 prior to appearing on the reality show.

A Pregnant Stray Cat Adopted You – And Now What? It happens all too often. A family or cat friend gets adopted by a stray cat. And after a few weeks it turns out she’s pregnant.
In the US alone there must be millions of sweet but homeless cats. And many of them get pregnant several times a year. Nobody really knows why, but pregnant strays often adopt a family instead of the other way round. Maybe they search for support or a good and warm home for their kittens.
Now, perhaps you don’t have the space or time for a cat family. Or there’s another reason that makes it difficult to have these kittens. But you don’t want to throw this stray out. She’s expecting babies, isn’t she?!
Now what can you do?
You could take her to an animal shelter. That’s not always a good idea.
Don’t get me wrong: I value the work of animal shelters. In fact, I got my current cat from one of them, and I’m pretty sure the next will come from a shelter too. But some animal shelters reportedly put a pregnant stray to sleep. You’ll blame yourself forever if you hear the cat you brought in, was killed.
Other shelters will spay her. They’ve got a good reason for that. The kitten population is astronomical and the last an animal shelter wants is put five more homeless cats in this world.
But maybe you have objections against spaying a pregnant cat – after all, it’s abortion at the same time. Then a far better idea is bringing a pregnant stray to a local rescue group. In the US alone dozens of rescue groups are active. Not all of them, but many let the queen have her kittens, and search a home for them.
But in the end, perhaps the most satisfying alternative is to keep the cat yourself and let her give birth. Take good care of her. Have her examined by a vet to see if she’s in good health. And get the right information so you are prepared for complications.
And remember: strays are used to go wherever they want. So keep your doors closed. Otherwise she’ll adopt someone else.

Celebrity Gossip: What's The Attraction?
Have you ever found yourself enthralled by what goes on in the personal lives of celebrities? Well, you aren’t alone. A huge percentage of people all over the world look forward to opening up their magazine of choice and reading about what the famous are up to. In what new ways has Tom Cruise embarrassed himself? Has Britney Spears given birth yet? Are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie sleeping in separate beds? For some reason, many humans find these things to be interesting.
But you have to ask yourself, why is it that people are entertained hearing about celebrity gossip? If Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are having marital troubles, what makes it more interesting than your neighbors regular fights? Is it because the celebrities have more money, and therefore anything that happens to them is more important? After all, if I want to hear about marital troubles, I don’t have to look very far.
Celebrity gossip is a huge business. The photographers can earn literally thousands of dollars just for taking a picture of a celebrity. The magazines scrape together every little bit of info the can to come up with the newest rumors. The magazines are released to grocery store checkouts across the nation, and are quickly snapped up by shoppers eager to hear the latest.
The Celebrity is really an interesting phenomenon. Society has idolized people who are hardly more good-looking or charismatic than the average person. And individuals have followed this trend, and begun to be interested by the celebrity gossip that is everywhere. But when put into perspective, few people can come up with the true reason they are interested by it. So, ask yourself why you really enjoy reading the gossip magazines. If you can’t come up with any valid reason, perhaps it’s time to rethink your priorities.
We know that it doesn't make any sense, but Celebrity Gossip is still fun, right? So visit our Celebrity Gossip Forum ;-)
Online Degrees - Points to watch out for
Many reputable universities offer online degree courses. An online degree offers students many advantages, especially older students, who may have childcare commitments that need to be accommodated into a study regime. Given that students on a traditional course spend the greater part of their time partying, it is certainly possible to pack the study part of a university education into one or two years.
Employers are naturally suspicious of anything new in the way of qualifications, and there will be a certain reluctance, on the part of some, to accept an online degree as equivalent to a traditional one. This arises because of the wealth of worthless life experience degrees that can be obtained for $200 or less from universities that no-one has ever heard of.
An online degree from a traditional and respected university will get you over this hurdle. You should avoid lesser known universities offering these courses, even if they are accredited institutions. Employers do not have the resources to keep track of which institutions are reputable this year, and which were reputable in the year your degree was awarded. They will play safe and only interview candidates with qualifications from universities they recognize.
School principals and governors are some of the most conservative people on the planet. If you apply for a teaching job with a qualification from some unheard of university, they will assume your hard-earned qualification is an online degree and worthless.
If you are looking into an online education degree, then you need to be particularly careful that it includes some teaching experience in a school situation. Teachers want to be working alongside other teachers who have been through a similar system of training that they went through themselves.
The general perception amongst teachers is that online degree qualifications do not include teaching practice in the classroom. They want to know that you have some teaching experience in the classroom and to see reports relating to that.
These reports are the only relevant reference you have as far as most teachers are concerned. The extent of your knowledge, as measured by your degree is much less important than is your ability to communicate that knowledge to a group of students.
