The Definition of Life

The Definition of Life

What is the definition of life? Many scientists and biologists define life as living organisms. They assume or believe that life can only exist in living organisms. This might be a specialized definition of life but we are concerned with the more general view or definition of life. For me this definition is too narrow to define the life of everything that exists, For example, the life of human beings, animals, birds and of course the life of all living organisms, life of earth, stones mountains, because we know that the mountains and earth (continents) moves from one place to another with the passage of time and it is scientifically proved also there may be a chance that something that exists 10 years ago may not exist today. So we need to know the life of every thing that exists either living or non-living. The definition I want to give is in generalized form that will define everything. Note that every object in this universe takes time to change or to distinguish. From object we mean that an object could be anything from the very smallest element like atom to a big form like chemicals or solids. This means that the time factor should be included in the definition of life. The new (my) definition of life depends upon two mutually exclusive possibilities this means that either of them should exist and only one at a time.

The assumptions are:
1 Rationality.
2 Irrationality.

First of all I will explain the concept of rationality and irrationality

1 Rationality:-
Rational means logic or reason. This means that everything that exists should have some logic means there is some reason associated with the existence of a particular object. Keep in mind the concept of infinity, if something is infinite it does not mean that it is irrational. For example, the numbers in mathematics: whole numbers (0,1,2,3……), even numbers (0,2,4,6,……), odd numbers (1,3,5,7,…….) or even counting is infinite. These numbers are infinite and we can go at any extent possible by our human capacity but the thing is that they have some logic in formation, see in the case of whole numbers there is a difference of 1 so to reach the next number we should add 1 to the previous number.

2 Irrationality:-
Irrationality means that something that have no logic in formation or there is no cause for anything that exits. The biggest example of irrationality is metaphysics because metaphysics is that part of science that is not proved by science or science is unable to give any reason for its existence and any person can make any rational or assumption for that particular metaphysical object. Irrationality also means that something that cannot be calculated in terms of mathematics or more general; the science.

As I stated earlier that there will be two different definitions of life in these two different cases. So the definitions are as follows:

1 If there only exists rationality means there is no irrationality:

Definition:-
“Life is defined as the continuous change in time with the random change in state”.

Explanation:-

Note that I have included the time factor in the definition of life because as stated earlier we know that time is compulsory in the formation of change in anything, Also we know that time is continues never discrete.
The second part is random change. This is very important. The term random change states that if there exits no irrationality means everything that exits is due to some cause and have some cause then anything’s behavior can be judged or predictable through science. This means that there will exist a set of all possible changes or actions relative to that object. A change being occurred in an object is taken or described in the set of all possibilities. The term random change means that the change in an object is selected from the set of all possible outcomes described for that object.
“Everything is predictable in this universe”.

2 If there exits irrationality:

Definition:-
“Life is defined as the continuous change in time with the discrete change in state”.

Explanation:-

Note that time is included that is the same as the previous definition but what we have changed is random change to discrete change.
If there exists irrationality means there exists something that have no cause but still exists then we cannot judge or predict an action or in simpler and more concise words we cannot predict the set of all possibilities relative to that object and if the set is incomplete then we cannot judge, predict or estimate the change accurately means that there will exist some or many errors in prediction.

For example:
The biggest examples of this will be human behavior up till mow we are unable to predict the complete human behavior that what will be the next action of a specific person.

A Pregnant Stray Cat Adopted You – And Now What?
It happens all too often. A family or cat friend gets adopted by a stray cat. And after a few weeks it turns out she’s pregnant.

In the US alone there must be millions of sweet but homeless cats. And many of them get pregnant several times a year. Nobody really knows why, but pregnant strays often adopt a family instead of the other way round. Maybe they search for support or a good and warm home for their kittens.

Now, perhaps you don’t have the space or time for a cat family. Or there’s another reason that makes it difficult to have these kittens. But you don’t want to throw this stray out. She’s expecting babies, isn’t she?!

Now what can you do?

You could take her to an animal shelter. That’s not always a good idea.

Don’t get me wrong: I value the work of animal shelters. In fact, I got my current cat from one of them, and I’m pretty sure the next will come from a shelter too. But some animal shelters reportedly put a pregnant stray to sleep. You’ll blame yourself forever if you hear the cat you brought in, was killed.

Other shelters will spay her. They’ve got a good reason for that. The kitten population is astronomical and the last an animal shelter wants is put five more homeless cats in this world.

But maybe you have objections against spaying a pregnant cat – after all, it’s abortion at the same time. Then a far better idea is bringing a pregnant stray to a local rescue group. In the US alone dozens of rescue groups are active. Not all of them, but many let the queen have her kittens, and search a home for them.

But in the end, perhaps the most satisfying alternative is to keep the cat yourself and let her give birth. Take good care of her. Have her examined by a vet to see if she’s in good health. And get the right information so you are prepared for complications.

And remember: strays are used to go wherever they want. So keep your doors closed. Otherwise she’ll adopt someone else.

Nothing Beats Karaoke
There are many ways to enjoy a great evening out with friends. Eating at a restaurant, enjoying live music, seeing a film, or taking in a show at a local theature can all be great ways to spend time. More fun than all of those things can be gathering some of your craziest friends and heading down to place that offers karaoke to its patrons.

Karaoke is a fun activity for people of all ages. Children and youth can enjoy karaoke in family-friendly restaurants. They will love choosing familiar songs and standing up in front of crowds to perform. Parents will love watching their kids laugh and sing. In many ways, something as simple as karaoke can be a great way to promote self-esteem and confidence in children. They get practice being in front of people and risking on an activity that they are probably unfamiliar with. Karaoke is a low-pressure way for kids to learn to express themselves and to have fun in the presence of other people.

Teens and young adults will love karaoke as well. They will feel almost like adults when they are out for an evening enjoying good food, the company of friends, and the laughter that karaoke inspires. Parents can be assured that their children are out participating in safe activities and that they are having harmless fun. Karaoke can be a great way for teens to continue to develop confidence and self-esteem as they try new things in front of people. There is no better time than during the teenage years to experiment and be silly.

College students and adults might be surprised to discover how fun karaoke is for them and their peers. After a stressful week of classes or work, doing karaoke with friends can be a great way to relax and unwind. Few things are as healing as time spent laughing, and few events provoke as much laughter as karaoke.

A great thing about karaoke is that you do not always have to go out looking for it to be offered at restaurants or bars. Most towns and cities have places where karaoke machines can be rented. So when you are planning a party of any kind, you can rent a karaoke machine and bring all the laughter and fun to your home. Surprise all of your guests with a karaoke competition and award prizes for the best singers. You will have your friends laughing and keep your guests entertained for hours on end.

So, whether you are bored next Friday night or whether you are throwing the party of the season, don't forget to try karaoke.

Denton Krypps has been enjoying great karaoke for years. He loves encouraging other people to try new and fun things. Learn more about karaoke at www.funkaraoke.info

Watching TV Has Never Been More Fun
Have you ever found yourself yelling at the TV after your team just made a boneheaded play and realize there is no one else to share your pain? Or, overcome with emotion when your favorite character died on the O.C., Lost, or 24 and realize there’s not another soul in the room that cares? Have you ever been so engrossed in a show that you would have given anything to be able to interact with the producers, writers, or even the actors? For the past 70 years, television has primarily been an anti-social, one-way device, without an outlet for social interactivity. Well, now that’s changed. Meet BuddyTV.

As more and more people get broadband Internet connections and put computers in their TV rooms (or laptops on their, well, laps) the notion of television as a one-way street is no longer reasonable. While you watch your favorite show, celebrities, experts, friends, family or (possibly) mortal enemies may be providing live commentary at BuddyTV. Everything imaginable is available; live video, live audio, live text, and interactive polls are all part of the BuddyTV experience. In fact, you can broadcast your own, private, live commentary to all your friends and neighbors. The television experience is now a communal one, where people can interact and socialize with both their friends and celebrities.

Television is never going away and it still draws enormous worldwide audiences; the most popular shows in the US drive over 30MM viewers per show. As the world becomes smaller and the global community continues to effortlessly reach across borders and oceans, television must adapt and become a community hub whose programming brings people closer together. It is happening today and it’s exciting, with BuddyTV leading the charge. Watching TV has never been more fun and exciting. Try BuddyTV out and ask youself this: Is this the next evolution of TV?

Online degrees - specially suited to adults looking to improve their employment prospects
No longer is a university degree only available by physically attending university lectures, seminars and tutorials. Now you can work for your degree 100% online, never setting foot into the hallowed halls of learning unless you choose to.

There are universities that offer Bachelors and Masters degrees online. You can even get a Doctorate 100% online. You have a very wide choice of subject, as wide as if you physically attended the institution.

The online degree has the advantage that you can work at it in between your parenting or other commitments. You can keep up the day job, while studying for your degree in the evenings or at weekends. This option is a really attractive one for adults looking to increase their long-term employment options.

You can get an Online degree from many traditional universities, including Harvard and Yale. There are other universities and colleges that only have online courses. Some of these universities are accredited universities, others are not.

If you apply to a non-accredited institution future employers are unlikely to look favorably on your qualification. This is because some of these non-accredited "universities" are nothing more than printing shops, churning out degrees as the cheques roll in. Everyone has seen the ads for these so-called degrees - "The Get your doctorate next week" type ads.

There have been cases of prominent scientists losing their posts because their degree was exposed to come from one of these non-accredited institutions that produce totally worthless degrees and doctorates.

There are "Life-Experience" degrees where you gain credit for what you have learned in your job over the years, including for experience gained by staying at home and looking after the kids. Treat these especially with extreme caution and don't shell out your money too easily. If it's that easy to get a degree then it really is not worth the paper it is printed on.

The author is an ex-teacher who now makes a living helping people to decide about their broad educational objectives. He has a website that has more details of some of the available options.
