Feelings – The True Power Behind The Throne
When it comes to taking control of our lives and making them what we want them to be, our FEELINGS are more important than our knowledge. Whether you understand and embrace the Law of Attraction or not, it is still working for you. It is a Universal law that you are powerless to escape. However, you can control it – and you do that with the power of your feelings.
Have you ever noticed that when you feel bad, more bad things tends to happen to you? On the flip side, whenever you feel on top of the world, it seems like no matter what happens, it isn’t powerful enough to derail you from your state of bliss.
So – given the choice – which one of those states of mind would you rather be in? The beauty of the Law of Attraction is that you have that choice each day, even minute to minute, and you do it by simply making a conscious decision to feel the way that you want to feel.
Sounds pretty simple, right? You want to feel good, so you simply decide to feel good. Believe it or not, it really is just that simple.
Here’s the catch, though – you have to BELIEVE it. Most people are all too familiar with what it feels like to lie to ourselves, and even though it may “seem” true on the surface, deep down inside – where it really matters – we know the truth. That won’t fly if you want to properly invoke the Law of Attraction.
The Law of Attraction simply magnetizes more of what you are feeling into your life. If you feel like your life is on a downward slide, then you will magnetize more people and circumstances that will ensure that you slide all the way to the bottom. However, if you feel like the sky is the limit, and you believe it in your soul, then what you need will be delivered to you to ensure that you can take your life as high as you want it to go.
Consider this example as a way of comparing true feelings vs. “on the surface” feelings:
Think of what it is like when you know you are going to see someone at a party or a get together, but you don’t really like them, and don’t particularly want to see them. Yet when you get there, you smile and give them a hug or shake their hand and tell them how great it is to see them.
You are practicing common courtesy and good manners, but you don’t truly FEEL happy to see that person. Now switch that situation around and think of a person that you truly want to see and that you are looking forward to spending time with. When you greet them, the hug or the hand shake is real, the smile on your face reaches your heart, and your happy feelings about seeing them are genuine.
That type of genuine emotional response is what the Law of Attraction responds to, and if you want to keep positive things coming your way in life, you need to spend as much time as possible having genuinely positive feelings.
It can be difficult at times, as life will frequently throw negative situations at us. However, what you have to remember about any situation is that can control your emotional reaction to that situation. No one else controls your reaction – only you.
That may seem hard to swallow because there are so many people in our lives that cause a genuine emotional response – whether that response is positive or negative. However, what you have to embrace is the fact that our reaction is completely up to us. If that person makes us happy vs. sad, or gleeful vs. angry, those reactions are completely up to us. This is a powerful thing to remember, especially if you find yourself dealing with negative people or situations on a frequent basis.
Another detail of this process that you need to understand is that the universal power of the Law of Attraction will react to your emotional response – whether that response is justified or not.
In other words, if someone makes you angry, frustrated, or sad, you will immediately begin to magnetize more anger, frustration, and sadness into your life. Even though you may be very much justified in having a negative reaction to someone, you are still attracting more negativity by having that reaction.
Remember, the only person who can control your emotional response to any situation is you. Even if you are justified in having a negative response, all that will happen by allowing yourself to have that emotional response is that you will attract more negativity into your life.
As hard as it may be in certain circumstances, it is absolutely imperative that you have a positive reaction as often as possible. Since most of us have negative people or circumstances that are part of our daily routines, simply avoiding those situations or people is the easiest solution.
Another trick that you can employ when you know that you are going to come head to head with negativity is to mentally prepare yourself in advance so that you are more able to control your reaction when you actually get there.
Remember, YOU are the only one who can control your emotional reaction to any given situation, or to any given person. Keep your reactions positive, and the Law of Attraction will start to steer your life towards times filled with happiness and prosperity. Enjoy the ride!

What Would Eminem Put In His House?
I've often wondered what Eminem might have in his house. I wonder what decor a rapper from Detroit would want. I read his bio in several places, watched his movie 8 Mile and I've thought about this a lot. I actually grew up a block from 7 Mile. I think my life was quite a bit different than what I read about him, but still, I visualize 8 Mile, I know I traveled daily down 8 Mile's east and west side on my way to school (which was across town for me).
I have some collectible items that I imagine would suit him. I might be way off the mark. I'd like to think someone like him would not indulge in mega bucks for sofas, paintings and extreme high ticket items because he's seen success, but rather would want to live amongst a more down-to-earth collection or decor. I've read descriptions of his early years as being part of the "white lower-class experience". Somehow, this doesn't line up with a home decked out from fancy Design Center furnishings, but oh well. This is my fantasy:
I think Eminem should have his walls covered with tin signs - memorabilia - like one for Ford Trucks (made in Detroit), or a tin sign of a Remington Shotgun and Duck. I have no clue if he drove a Ford or went hunting, but I do know these are big things in Michigan. And if he is a hunter, maybe he likes Deer things - a Deer Key Rack, or a shelf with a moose head.
I picture him in a kitchen with some corny things - I know he has the best appliances and cabinetry available, and maybe his counters are costly granite imported from who knows where. But I just hope he has a Kitchen Fairy on a Pie to bring it all down to reality. And a Half Eaten Apple Salt and Pepper Set. Those fans he raps to, they are more likely have that in their kitchen than an original Andy Warhol painting.
Well, maybe not. We don't mind our celebrities living it up to the hilt. We just want to relate to them and in Eminem's particular case, he's carved himself a space in the limelight that draws attention from ALL walks of life, not just those in his newly acquired (hopefully) wealthy class. I just hope he keeps some reminders of those early years by surrounding himself with some of the simple delights around.

More things I have learned
Growing old does have one benefit ... experience. So, I am continuing here to share my vast pool of knowledge. Of course my girlfriend can't resist telling me I need to clean the pool, but heres the list anyway.
1. If you do anything that gets your hands wet, soapy or dirty, your nose WILL itch.
2. When you give your email out anywhere on the internet, you will soon learn all you never wanted to know about body part enhancements.
3. A cat does not love you. It simply allows you to live with it IF you pet, feed and clean it's litter box on a regular basis. Otherwise, you're history.
4. Your Co-Workers, on the other hand, DO love you ... at least as long as you continue to give them good stuff to talk about when you aren't around.
5. You are NOT the master of your fate. Your mother is. And when you get married, your wife is.
6. Life is beautiful .. Life sucks ... life is beautiful ... life sucks. Repeat as necessary.
7. There is a chip in all cars that keeps them from starting unless you stroke the dashboard correctly and sincerely mean it when you say "Come on baby .. you can do it".
8. Computers will only work correctly when you DON'T need them to.
9. A kiss is just a kiss, and a smile is just a smile, but a baby is forever.
10. There is no such thing as a ghost that can haunt you ... except in your own mind.

12. No matter how hard you try, you will NEVER be able to fold laundry according to your spouse's instructions.
13. Anything you think will happen, won't... and anything you think won't happen, will.

Guitar Lessons - Guitar Vibrato
Playing a guitar without vibrato is like eating Mexican food without salsa. Vibrato is one of the most definitive techniques in defining your musical style, your own personal unique sound. No two players have the same vibrato sound. Some play slow and wide while others play narrow and fast, and that’s the beauty behind spending a lot of time learning different vibrato techniques. It’s like eating different salsa’s every time you go to your favorite taco stand. Enough talk about food, lets talk technique.
Vibrato is sometimes confused with tremolo. Basically it is just a technique of vibrating the string sharp and flat around a root note. For example if you are playing the 7th fret on the 3rd string with your 3rd finger on your fret hand you can just push the note up slightly and them pull it down slightly. Do this in quick succession so the over riding effect is a “wobbly” tone around the root note you are playing. Use your hand, wrist, and arm to make the movements. Never just wiggle a finger. Some people use a technique of pulling the string down towards the floor and then releasing back up.
Try this in a variety of speeds and levels of bending during your vibrato. The trick is to be consistent and smooth with your motion. If you are playing a slow blues riff then you may want to slow down and make a wide circular motion with the string, or if you are playing a fast rock lick you may just ad a fast narrow vibrato to accent the final note in a run.
It is possible to add vibrato using any finger you play with, but it is most commonly done with the first and third finger on the fret hand. Using your first finger is a bit trickier. I usually use my first finger for fast vibratos similar to BB Kings style. I will literally lift my other finger far off the fret board, press down and just “vibrate” the string as fast and as open as possible. That’s funny the work vibrato is a lot like vibrate, because that’s actually what you are doing vibrating the string.
When you combine vibrato with string bending, harmonics and legato techniques you begin to discover the musician inside of you. Playing guitar is about discovering your inner flow of creativity and having the techniques to be able to express them. Vibrato is one of the more personal and effective techniques. As with all aspect of playing guitar you need to experiment with these techniques, and most of all have fun!

The Easy Way to Define Poetry...
Poetry is a form of expression. Whether it is spoken or written, it is the manifestation of thoughts, feelings, and intellect. It is a way of communicating. With poetry one can effectively communicate opinion, desire, ideas, cleverness, and most of all state of mind. Although poetry is a supreme form of expression, it is not the most efficient form of expression. It is subject to the reader's or listener's interpretation. A poet may want to express certain notions but the interpretive elements of poetry can sometimes keep the meaning of a poem from being clearly articulated. We all see and feel things differently.
Most poets want to evoke emotion in the reader or listener. They'll often use rhythm and rhyme with a swarm of other literary devices to create such an effect. Poetry is like music! Actually, one could reason that poetry is music. It is the art of arranging sound to create a thought-provoking effect.
Therefore, poetry is also defined as literature that focuses on the aesthetic beauty of words and sound. It is artistic writing in metrical form. It takes skill and technique to produce this art-an art that seems to define itself as its definitions come across as being somewhat poetic.
Poetry is the science of versification. It is creative expression at its finest, which is why sharing, writing, or reciting poetry can be a deeply personal experience. It is truly an art form.
